Sky Sports Boxing pundit Spencer Oliver recently discussed the next step for Super Middleweight Champion Canelo Alvarez. ‘The Omen’ would state that there’s probably only one potential challenger who could really test the Champion, that being Billy Joe Saunders.
“It’s just the way that Canelo stomps his opponents down” Oliver began on the Pound For Pound podcast w/Jake Wood. “He doesn’t waste a shot. And every shot Canelo throws is a power punch. Every shot…even the jab, everything. He just whips the shots in.”
“So there’s a lot of single shots” Spencer would continue. “But they’re all very precise and they’re all power punches. Just like…he breaks his opponents down, he wears them down. He makes them work without [even] throwing punches, because he’s got great head movement. It’s a tough night for anybody.”

“If there’s any one Super Middleweight in the world right now who could test Canelo? That’s Billy Joe Saunders” Spencer Oliver would state. “I think he’s the only one left now. For me? Billy Joe is the only one that could test him, but I don’t [even] know how that would go. After the Callum Smith performance from Canelo? How he dominated Callum Smith? That’s made me worry a lot for the Billy Joe fight.”
