AEW Champion Kenny Omega has been going back and forth with IWGP World Champion Will Ospreay. The situation began when Ospreay responded to the PWI 500 list, which saw Kenny Omega as the #1 placed performer.

Ospreay wrote, ‘I’d beat up number 1 any day of the week and twice on Wednesdays’¦just saying.’ Omega would then respond to the British star, saying “Your promotion has been so ice-cold since I left that not even Meltzer can convince his followers that you were part of any BITW conversation. It hurts me, bruv. One of you dorks should have been the guy. Turned out a bigger dog was my only competition.’

In an update from this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there are currently no plans for Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay to have a match.

However, both men are reportedly very interested in a contest, and Omega is apparently also wanting to face NEVER Openweight Champion Jay White at some point.
