AEW President Tony Khan has responded to reports that he recently offered WWE NXT Superstar Adam Cole a deal to join the company.

It was reported by WrestlingINC over the past week that Adam Cole was extremely close to finishing his deal with the company and maybe looking elsewhere.

Cole reportedly saw his deal with WWE lapse, before signing an extension keeping him with the company until after SummerSlam weekend, which also sees NXT Takeover 36 take place.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Tony Khan had reached out to Cole upon knowledge of his contract coming up for renewal:

“Those close to the situation have said that he is negotiating a new deal with NXT but that AEW had made an offer as well and he had not agreed to either offer as of midweek”

Tony Khan himself reached out to Meltzer to confirm that the story was in fact not true and that All Elite had not offered Cole anything at the time of writing.
