WWE Legend Lita recently guest hosted the Oral Sessions podcast. Lita took over from Renee Paquette whilst she is on maternity leave, and the former WWE Women’s Champion commented on the AEW Women’s division match from March between Thunder Rosa and Dr Britt Baker D.M.D.
Baker actually said on a previous episode that she would love for her idols Lita or Trish Stratus to critique the match, and now she has 50% of her wish.
‘I did [watch it], not initially. But holy s’“t, right? It was insane,’ Lita began, talking about Dr Britt Baker vs Thunder Rosa. ‘It was great that they got that spotlight. But you need a moment that brings you up from a wrestler that people have heard about to [someone] that knocks your stock up.”
Does Lita watch AEW?
“I think Thunder Rosa won the match, but it’s one of those that’s just like, it doesn’t matter. They just, like, tore the house down” Lita continued.
“There’s no counterpoint or counterargument. That was an awesome match! They fully went for it: not for gender or amount of time in the business. They went for it and delivered. It was crazy” the former Team Extreme member concluded.
Since that Lights Out match, Dr Britt Baker has gone on to win the AEW Women’s Championship. Thunder Rosa has not been featured too heavily on television as of late, but the NWA star is still clearly in AEW’s plans going forward as they continue to build the division.
