AEW President Tony Khan appeared on WFAN660 radio this morning and confirmed that All Elite Wrestling’s Dynamite show will be heading to New York City.

The special ‘Grand Slam Dynamite’ show will be taking place September 22 at the USTA Arthur Ashe Stadium. The open air venue is where the US Open tennis tournament is held, and has a retractable roof.

Tony Khan spoke to NY Daily News about the announcement; saying how happy he is to take the company to the biggest city in wrestling history.

‘No city is more synonymous with wrestling than New York City,’ Khan stated.

‘AEW is a new company and our company is in the business of both embracing tradition and trailblazing; trying to start new traditions and new history.’

Former AEW Champion Chris Jericho also commented on the special event. ‘We’ll be vindicated as the coolest wrestling company in the world today” Jericho noted. “What fans can expect is what we’ve been doing, just at a higher intensity level and a higher energy level because of the people in the crowd giving us more inspiration and more energy and more reward for what we’re doing.’

Tickets for the event go on sale July 16. You can find more info at aewtix.com.
