It was unanimous, however Ebanie Bridges put in one hell of a shift against the Watford born fighter. Courtenay was just far too classy when it came to actual in-ring ability, looking really technically proficient throughout the contest.

This is one hell of a fight, it’s well worth going out of your way to watch it. Shannon was extremely emotional following the fight, having turned her life around to become a World Champion.

Courtenay felt that her jab won her the fight, keeping to strict gameplay to ensure that she took the W inside the Copper Box Arena in London. She also confirmed that Rachel Ball will be the next fight, at least that’s what she was told.

Before the fight, Courtenay was not a massive fan of the way Bridges conducted herself. ‘We have very different opinions when it comes to fighting” she said during the weigh in.

“She talks more about the weigh-in, all I care about is the fight ’“ I’m a fight fan” Courtenay noted. “This to me is a World Title, why are we not talking about the fact this is a world title fight. This is a fantastic fight.”
