TMZ Sports recently confirmed that a sexual assault case against Conor McGregor had been dropped. Officials from the city of Bastia, on the French Island of Corsica, decided to dismiss the case against the UFC fighter.
McGregor was arrested on allegations of sexual assault and indecent exposure back in September 2020. Conor McGregor was questioned by officials and later released, with his team releasing a statement denying any wrongdoing from the Irish fighter.
As well as this, McGregor wrote a statement in his personal Facebook page (verified by TMZ), saying that we would not be paying out to any claimants and vehemently denying any wrongdoing.
“Try set me up all yous f*cking want over and over and over the truth will always set me free!” McGregor wrote. “Be it baby father claims, r*pe, indecent exposure, bullsh*t WhatsApp group sh*t. You f*cking name it. Never will I fold!”
Conor McGregor Case Dismissed
TMZ acquired a letter confirming that the case had to be dismissed due to a lack of evidence. The following has been translated from French by TMZ.
‘The examination of the present proceedings does not justify any criminal prosecution since; ‘The facts or the circumstances of the facts of the proceedings could not have been clearly established by the investigations. Pieces of evidence are therefore not sufficient for the offense to be constituted and for criminal prosecution to be engaged.’
McGregor’s team have not released any sort of statement since the case has been dismissed.
