Former MMA and Star Wars franchise star Gina Carano has been fired by Lucafilm and Disney.

‘Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future,’ said Lucasfilm in a statement released today. ‘Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.’

A source told The Hollywood Reporter that Lucasfilm had ‘been looking for a reason to fire [Carano] for two months, and today was the final straw.’ The Daily Beast also confirmed that Carano had been dropped from her publicists ID back in the fall. This was “due to her social media activity, which has included statements about facemask wearing and voter fraud.”
