UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou recently spoke to TMZ Sports. The ’˜Predator’ discussed a number of topics during the interview, including how he is ’˜open’ to a mega fight against Tyson Fury.

‘I would like to fight other heavyweight boxers such as Tyson Fury,’ Ngannou began. ‘Absolutely, I’m open to that. Remember, boxing was my primary dream and I still have the fire and the dream inside me.’

Well now the talks publicly appear to have intensified. Tyson Fury heard the comments from Ngannou, and wrote on Twitter ‘@Mike Tyson, after I smash Anthony Joshua, I’ll roast that guy also. Francis Ngannou easy work.”

The UFC Champion and ‘Baddest Man on The Planet’ was quick to respond, putting a picture up of a bloodied Fury and writing ’˜if this guy did this to you, what do you think I would do?’ The image in question showed Tyson Fury bleeding after his bout with Otto Wallin in September 2019.

Francis Ngannou vs Tyson Fury

Francis Ngannou reportedly turned down a fight against Derrick Lewis that was slated for June 12th. Ariel Helwani recently reported that the Jones fight is ’˜off,’ and that the UFC are looking at seemingly cheaper options.

‘UFC has kicked the tires on Francis Ngannou x Derrick Lewis on June 12, sources say’ Helwani began. ‘However the timing doesn’t work for Ngannou (and I don’t blame him; he just won the belt).’

‘Bigger story here, IMO, is, at least for now, they don’t seem keen on waiting around for Jones’ Helwani added.

It remains to be seen if the company chooses to go with a the mega match between Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou. Beyond that? A huge boxing match against Tyson Fury could blow away PPV records.
