UFC Welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal recently spoke during a virtual fan Q&A on ESPN+. ‘Gamebred’ discussed a number of topics during the Q&A, including a potential fight against fellow Welterweight contender Leon Edwards.

‘Who’s that? Oh, wait, that’s the dude that interrupted our interview,’ said Masvidal, talking about Leon Edwards, who interrupted an interview with Jorge back in 2019. ‘I already dealt with that individual. In his fights, he pokes eyes last I heard. So it’s whatever.”

‘Win a fight and I’ll be here, man’ Jorge Masvidal added.

Leon Edwards himself recently spoke to ESPN. The British fighter discussed his upcoming 5 round co-main event against Nate Diaz at UFC 262 on May 15.

‘I know it’s gonna be hard work for him (Diaz) to come against a natural welterweight’ Leon Edwards began. ‘One that can switch southpaw, orthodox, fight (from) both stances, got great wrestling, great jiu-jitsu.’

‘I like his mental attitude to the game’ Edwards continued. ‘I like the way he thinks of it. It’s gonna be an entertaining fight,’ Edwards said to ESPN.

Whether Edwards can get the win and a Jorge Masvidal fight next remains to be seen.
