It was confirmed on Friday that UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov had officially retired. Although the dominant 29-0 Russian Champion had already claimed as such prior, UFC President Dana White was trying to tempt him back to the octagon.

‘29-0 it is. He is 100% officially retired’ Dana White wrote back on Friday. ‘It was incredible to watch you work @TeamKhabib, thank you for EVERYTHING and enjoy whatever is next my friend.’

Although Khabib will no longer be fighting in the octagon; he will still be training and working alongside the company going forward. Khabib was in attendance last night for UFC Vegas 22, sat right next to Dana White.

Hilariously, Khabib Nurmagomedov was actually live streaming the event to his Instagram account. Granted, it wasn’t the camera quality of a ‘proper’ illegal stream from the actual feed; but it was still funny as he was sat right next to the UFC President.

Khabib Nurmagomedov Illegally Streams

Dana White said earlier this year before McGregor vs Poirier that the UFC were going to go in hard on illegal streamers this year. “We’ve been one of the leagues that has been so proactive on piracy,” White said to The Mac Life.

“I love how cool and tough these guys act on social media because – let me tell you what, we’ve caught a lot of people” White continued. “Let me tell you what they do: They cry. They cry, and they beg not to be prosecuted and all this other stuff.”

“We just overcame a huge hurdle in the piracy world, and we’re going to catch some of these guys in 2021, and I look forward to the crying and the begging. We’ll see how tough they are when they get caught.”

Any chance Dana goes after Khabib?
