Former UFC Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate will be returning to the octagon in July. ESPN recently reported that Tate will be appearing to face Marion Reneau on July 17. The event does not currently have a title although it appears to be a Fight Night event.

Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier 3 is reportedly being booked for July 10th, which will be on PPV. That gives this historic return of Miesha Tate the chance to main event a Fight Night card the week after.

‘Cupcake’ is 18-7 in her illustrious MMA career. Tate comes into this fight however with a two-contest losing streak; with losses to Raquel Pennington and Amanda Nunes, both from 2016.

Miesha Tate does however have some iconic wins on her resume. In the UFC alone, Tate has defeated the likes of Holly Holm, Jessica Eye and Liz Carmouche.

Miesha Tate on New UFC Contract

Speaking to SiriusXM’s Fight Nation, Tate was extremely excited to be making her return to the sport. “I’m looking at this in a two year perspective” Tate began on the show. “It’s very difficult to really say, because you always think you’d like to have a plan for your life, and it never very rarely follows that.”

Miesha Tate then revealed that she has six fights on her new UFC contract. “I’ve got, you know, six fights on the contract, I’ve got two years that I know for sure I want to dedicate to this sport” Tate stated. “But look, anything could happen off one fight, I really don’t know what exactly to expect.”

Tate finished by making her title ambitions clear. “What’s so exciting to me is, I get to get in there and mix it up with Marion [Reneau] and she’s the one that I had to keep those goals on. But I can tell you for the next two years, my plan is to be heavily involved in the sport, obviously I want to become a champion again.”
