It was recently reported by Fightful Select that WWE NXT Superstar Pete Dunne is extremely close to the end of his WWE contract.
This week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Pete Dunne’s WWE NXT contract is up at the end of August. There were no reports before this as to when Dunne’s contract was up, only that it is a situation similar to Adam Cole.
Pete Dunne leaving WWE?
AEW are reportedly interested in the former PROGRESS World Champion, with Dunne being in his early 20s and a performer who can work multiple styles, he is a fantastic talent to have on your roster.
There’s no further news on how the negotiations are going, but there is a very good chance that WWE do not want the former WWE United Kingdom Champion to be appearing on AEW Dynamite anytime soon.
AEW will be heading to Pittsburgh for next week’s episodes of Dynamite and the world premiere of AEW Rampage. The following has been announced for the shows on Wednesday 11th and Friday 13th:
