This week’s edition of WWE NXT was the post-NXT Takeover: In Your House edition of the show, with some major occurrences taking place on the USA Network show.
The biggest news coming out of the show was Samoa Joe making his return to NXT and joining William Regal as his enforcer, with Regal seeming like he was going to retire from the position of General Manager.
With the rumors online circulating regarding Regal’s announcement on the show, the ratings saw a bump from the last few weeks of the Tuesday broadcasts.
It’s an interesting position for NXT, with the brand no longer having to go head-to-head with AEW on Wednesdays, they are still unable to push past the 800,000 viewership mark.
Ratings Up From Prior 2 Weeks
This week’s 695,000 number is strong compared to the last two weeks, but it is still far below the first Tuesday night show which saw the brand get 805,000 viewers and 0.22 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
Compared to AEW on Fridays, NXT is ‘winning,’ however when AEW is able to move Dynamite back to Wednesdays following the NBA playoffs, they will likely be close to the 1 million rating mark most weeks.
Here’s the current viewership and ratings figures over the past few weeks:
- 18th May 2021 – 700,000 viewers. 0.15 rating in the 18-49 demographic
