Newly signed AEW star Andrade El Idolo recently took to Twitter to rip into fellow former WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio.
Andrade signed for AEW a month or so ago, but prior to this he had been confirmed for matches on the independent scene in the US and Mexico.
One of the matches he will be taking part in comes on July 31st, where he will be facing the aforementioned former WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio.
Taking to Twitter to hype the match, Del Rio would say (translated from Spanish) “I defeated John Cena a number of times and he was the face of WWE. What makes you think I’ll allow Andrade El Idolo or Carlito to beat me on July 31 at the Payne Arena? @RPPromotions1.”
Andrade El Idolo cuts scathing promo
Andrade would then respond, somewhat in character, but also with a scathing assessment of Alberto Del Rio and his promotion Robles Patrón Promotions.
‘Congratulations on that achievement and who remembers it?” Andrade wrote, referencing the times that Alberto defeated John Cena in WWE.
“Alberto Del Rio, I was so busy that I didn’t have time to answer. You had to start a company to be able to work while I have a contract and can work all over the world. You even hired me to humiliate you’ the new AEW star would conclude.
Tickets for the event are available here, and it does appear that there are several remaining seats to see Alberto Del Rio vs Andrade El Idolo vs Carlito.
