Former WWE Superstar CM Punk recently made his way back to professional wrestling with a huge return as part of the AEW Rampage episode 2.
CM Punk was previously working for FOX as part of WWE Backstage, and reportedly he had a very good relationship with the network, as they congratulated him for the mega rating that AEW Rampage pulled (1.2 million).
According to the most recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter, FOX are not however happy with WWE, as they believe that the company should’ve made a much bigger offer to Punk before he confirmed with All Elite Wrestling.
FOX Network on CM Punk move
It’s interesting that Becky Lynch and Brock Lesnar were ‘brought back’ to combat the ratings pull of CM Punk and to appease FOX; certain fans and critics claimed that this was WWE’s plan all along, but clearly it was some sort of reaction to AEW getting the straight edge star to return.
