All Elite Wrestling EVP Cody Rhodes cut an, interesting, promo on AEW Dynamite this week. The former TNT Champion is currently in a feud with The Factory, which is led by his former on-screen friend QT Marshall.
Anthony Ogogo, one of the members of that stable, has been attacking Rhodes for many weeks and on last week’s episode of Dynamite he lay a Union Flag on the back of The American Nightmare.
The patriotic promo that Rhodes cut was divisive amongst fans. Some were saying that it was one of the greatest in modern history; whilst others were bemused at the fact that Rhodes is using a Nationalistic storyline to push the British Ogogo in this day and age.

A nice fan to wrote to Cody on Twitter, showing his distain for the promo. “Congrats to @CodyRhodes for the worst promo in the history of the promotion!”
Rhodes decided to react to this, saying “some say it’s the absolute best in modern history. I don’t even consider it a promo, because it was real” Rhodes added.
“As always w/me. And the discourse/discussion is what makes wrestling beautiful” Cody Rhodes continued. “It’s not easy in 2021 being proud of American heritage – warts and all, but I am. Very.”
