It was recently reported that Randy Orton had suffered an injury during his match against Matt Riddle last week. On this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Orton teamed with Riddle, defeating Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin.

In an update on Orton’s apparent injury, Fightful Select have reported that it was ‘bruising’ and that it will not likely keep him out of action for long.

Randy Orton Injury Update

“We’re told that Orton sustained a deep bruise in the area” Fightful Select wrote. “But initially at least there didn’t seem to be major damage that would sideline him for a long period of time. We’re not sure if that has changed over the last several days.”

Randy Orton is not currently confirmed for a match at WrestleMania Backlash in May. It is extremely likely that the Riddle partnership will fall apart on screen and RKO will get a shot at the Original Bro at Backlash.
