Adam Cole Addresses Potential RAW or SmackDown 'Call Up'

NXT Superstar Adam Cole recently addressed calls for him to move to WWE’s ‘main roster.’ Although WWE would claim that NXT is the third brand of the company, especially at events like Survivor Series 2019, being on RAW or SmackDown brings a higher level of fame and monetary gain for performers.

Adam Cole recently tweeted saying that he and Undisputed Era will end 2021 still at the top of the NXT brand. “#UndisputedERA has run @WWENXT since we’ve arrived” Cole wrote. “2021 will be no different. Enjoy the ride boys & girls. @KORcombat @roderickstrong @theBobbyFish.”

A fan replied to Cole saying “you could advance to the main roster on 2021.” Adam Cole would take somewhat of an exception to this, confirming that “@WWENXT is main roster. No debate. End of story.”

Readdressing the aforementioned Survivor Series 2019, it’s interesting that WWE’s approach to NXT on screen has changed since the creation of All Elite Wrestling. AEW is of course in direct competition with NXT, and the ‘third brand’ were not featured on 2020’s iteration of Survivor Series, even after such a strong showing at the 2019 event.

There were rumours around Survivor Series 2020 saying that WWE CEO Vince McMahon had ‘disowned’ NXT for losing so heavily every week to AEW in the ratings. Although it’s not possible to confirm this, it’s clear that NXT is no longer presented on the ‘same level’ as RAW and SmackDown heading into 2021.

There’s a very good potential that Adam Cole appears in the Royal Rumble and that could signify he has ‘moved up.’ The other members of Undisputed Era may be just behind him, or WWE could opt to keep them in the Florida based brand.
