WWE Intercontinental Champion Big E recently appeared on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast. The New Day member discussed a number of topics during his time on the show, including stablemate Kofi Kingston’s run as WWE Champion back in 2019.

Kofi Kingston became WWE Champion at WrestleMania 35, beating Daniel Bryan to win the title and create a massive moment in the company’s history.

“What I really respected, was that Kofi…there’s so many times we could have just made it about himself, and he was still always trying to include the three of us” Big E began on Oral Sessions. “And that I really appreciate you know? Because it was it was his moment, honestly, and we were fortunate enough to be along for the ride.”

“I’m glad we got to do the storyline of the Tag Team Gauntlet match” Big E continued. “The reaction to that was really cool too. Because in wrestling it’s always about like which faction member is going to screw the other; and it was cool because we (WWE) never do like real moments of like brotherhood and sacrificing for the other, so that was cool.”

Big E would finish by praising Kofi for the way that he handled the media responsibilities after winning the WWE Championship. “Just seeing how hard Kofi worked in and out of the ring; like he was on all the time, he was on everything, just always doing media. Seeing him be able to do it with smile on his face, and never complain? It was something that I’ve always remembered.”
