‘The Almighty’ Bobby Lashley won the WWE Championship on last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW. The Hurt Business stable member faced The Miz in the middle of the show, only for Miz to exit the ring as soon as the bell rang. With The Miz escaping, it appeared as though Bobby Lashley had lost his opportunity at winning the coveted title.

Shane McMahon confirmed that the match would happen again later that night, with a Lumberjack stipulation added to the Championship match. Lashley then won the match and the WWE Championship for the first time in his career.

Bobby Lashley Wins The Big One

Bobby Lashley becomes one of only a handful of black Superstars to win the WWE Championship; the only other two being The Rock and Kofi Kingston. It was clearly an emotional win for ‘The Almighty,’ with the on-screen heel character trying desperately to hide his feelings on camera.

It’s not clear if Bobby Lashley will now go on to WrestleMania as the WWE Champion. It has also not been confirmed if Lashley will defend the Championship at the WWE Fastlane PPV later this month.

The most likely scenario is that The Miz, Drew McIntyre and Lashley will compete in a Triple Threat match at the PPV, with the winner going on to WrestleMania 37 with the belt.

There is also the possibility of a certain ‘Beast Incarnate’ making a return and challenging Lashley…
