WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan recently spoke to BT Sport. The former WWE Champion discussed a number of topics during the interview, including the two-night WrestleMania format that has occurred over the past two ‘Mania shows.
Of course, WWE probably wouldn’t have usually chosen to have WrestleMania over two nights. The COVID-19 pandemic meant that WrestleMania 36 had to take place at the Performance Center with no fans in attendance.
This year’s ‘Mania had a reduced crowd in Raymond James Stadium, but again it went over two nights largely so that WWE could get the maximum amount of fans in attendance over two nights rather than a reduced gate on one night.
‘I think one of the things that really helped us is the two nights” Daniel Bryan began, speaking to BT Sport. “Take away last year because that was in front of nobody, so it doesn’t count.”

“WrestleMania 35 was really hard for that main event. They didn’t go into the ring till after midnight. I was so thankful” Bryan continued, referencing the 7 hour long Mania 35 show with Becky Lynch winning the WWE Women’s Championships in the main event.
“My match with Kofi [Kingston], which is one of my favorite matches I’ve ever had, is just two hours into the show, which is the perfect time for a match to start” Bryan added. “But after four or five hours, people have seen so much. And then it’s starting to get cold, or you’re getting uncomfortable, or you’re getting hungry or whatever it is.”
“I thought the two-day thing was very successful, and one of the things that I really like about it is it kept the showtimes a little bit shorter” Bryan concluded. “You have to imagine in Tampa, there were thunderstorms, all this kind of crazy stuff and it kept the people interested over both nights. I think that that really helped us.”
