Edge ‘Pushing’ For Match Against Daniel Bryan in 2021

WWE Superstar Edge has reportedly been ‘pushing’ management for a match against SmackDown Superstar Daniel Bryan this year. Dave Meltzer confirmed in the newest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that “Edge has pushed that he’d like to have a match with Bryan this year.”

Edge of course won the Royal Rumble event this past Sunday, meaning that he has the opportunity to challenge for any WWE Championship of his choosing at WrestleMania. The Rated R Superstar appeared on RAW, NXT and SmackDown this week confronting the Champions of each brand but he has not as yet offered his decision.

Edge vs Bryan

It has been rumoured that Roman Reigns will be the match for Edge at WrestleMania come April; although with WWE constantly changing plans there’s a chance this may well be changed. There’s been a clamouring from WWE fans for Edge to may face NXT Champion Finn Balor, although NXT’s loss to AEW in the ratings this week may indicate that won’t be happening come ‘Mania.

Another aspect of the story is that Daniel Bryan is of course a SmackDown Superstar. If Edge were to defeat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania then there is a tailor made feud there waiting between Edge and Bryan. There’s no confirmation thus far on the situation and whether WWE are planning on putting the two men in the ring together down the line in 2021.
