WWE have reportedly been on a ‘signing spree’ over the past few months. With competition against NXT coming in the form of AEW, the company has been ‘hoarding’ talent and even bringing in former Superstars to fill out their rosters even more.
One WWE Superstar confirmed to be returning is Davey Boy Smith Jr. The son of WWE legend The Bulldog was previously in WWE as part of The Hart Dynasty alongside Natalya and Tyson Kidd.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter confirmed the news and that there will be around 25 ‘newcomers’ who will be starting with the company very soon. It has not been confirmed if these Superstars will be NXT, NXT UK or main roster bound.
Davey Boy Smith Jr
Speaking to the Metro, Davey Boy Smith Jr revealed recently that he has been in talks with WWE regarding a potential return.
‘There’s been quite a bit of interest and a little bit of back and forth talk with myself and the company,’ the former WWE Superstar confirmed. ‘I think that the plan, or what they were hoping, was for me to come to NXT UK. But unfortunately, right now because of COVID, those doors are kind of locked, we’ll see. We’re discussing and talking. I can’t exactly say anything for sure, but there’ve been talks.’
