Stone Cold Steve Austin recently appeared on WWE’s The Bump program on WWE Network. The Rattlesnake discussed a number of topics during his time on the show, including his final match in WWE against The Rock.

Austin and Rock 3 took place at WrestleMania 19. The previous two matches at WrestleMania 15 and 17 had been won by Steve Austin, and finally The Rock was able to take the win back in the trilogy match.

“Nobody really knew this was going to be my last match” Stone Cold began the interview. “The Rock knew, and a couple of guys in management knew. I was going to go ride off into the sunset, I defeated The Rock two times prior at WrestleMania, and at WrestleMania 17, we rocked the house. We thought the match was good, but it could have been better.”

“I love The Rock” Steve Austin continued. “Right there, that part [at the end of the match] in the ring, he pushes Earl Hebner out of the way and says, ’˜hey man, I appreciate everything you did for me. I just want you to know that I love you.’ I’m laying there with my eyes closed, and I said, ’˜I love you, too.’ He meant it, and I meant it. Like we both said, we bring out the best in each other.”
