WWE Champion The Miz recently spoke to Sports Illustrated. The newly crowned Champion of course won the belt back at Elimination Chamber on Sunday after Bobby Lashley beat down Drew McIntyre.

The current rumour is that The Miz will be dropping his WWE Championship to Bobby Lashley in the near future. It isn’t confirmed if Miz will be losing to Bobby Lashley next week in their confirmed match or at the FastLane event on March 21st.

Next week’s match on WWE Monday Night RAW was confirmed this week. It was revealed that The Miz made a deal with The Hurt Business that Bobby Lashley would get a WWE Championship match before anyone else. This was due to John Morrison being pinned by Riddle at the PPV and costing Lashley his United States Championship.

The Miz on Winning The Title

‘I do not plan on being a transitional champion,’ Miz said to Sports Illustrated. ‘That idea only fuels my fire, and hearing it is nothing new. It makes me think back to when I cashed in the Money in the Bank contract and won the belt in 2010. People thought I would lose, but I didn’t. Instead, I won the WWE Championship.”
