WWE Superstar Bianca Belair (real name Bianca Nicole Crawford) is currently signed to WWE’s SmackDown brand, where she is the reigning WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion. At WrestleMania 37 Night 1, Belair and Sasha Banks became the first black women to ever headline the biggest show in WWE’s calendar year.

Bianca Belair was a track & field athlete prior to joining WWE. As well as this, Belair competed in Crossfit and as a powerlifter before signing with WWE in 2016.

Belair made her way to WWE after Hall of Famer Mark Henry suggested that she attend a tryout with the company. After attending two ‘official’ tryouts, Belair signed her WWE contract on April 12, 2016. Bianca Belair was then assigned to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida before debuting at an NXT live event in June of that year.

Bianca Belair stayed in NXT until 2020, following her appearance at WrestleMania 36. That ‘Mania show took place without a crowd at the WWE Performance Center, and the night after Belair became a member of the RAW roster.

Belair became only the second African-American to win the Royal Rumble match, along with The Rock. Belair won the 2021 iteration of the event; outlasting 29 other women and eliminating Rhea Ripley to win the match and go on to headline WrestleMania 37.

Bianca Belair’s first defense of her SmackDown Women’s Championship came at the WrestleMania Backlash PPV event that took place in May 2021. That show was the third PPV event to air on Peacock in the United States; behind WWE Fastlane and WWE WrestleMania 37.
