WWE shockingly released Superstar Bray Wyatt just over two weeks ago. The company reportedly let ‘The Fiend’ go as part of ‘budget cuts.’
Whilst the reasoning for Bray Wyatt leaving has been up for debate over the past couple of weeks, it’s worth noting that this week’s episode of RAW was apparently when he was meant to return.
Fightful reported that the former WWE and Universal Champion had been working on new elements for his character, which was meant to make a return this week on WWE RAW.
Wyatt had not been seen on WWE programming for some time, with his last televised appearance being at the WrestleMania 37 PPV event in Florida.
Several former WWE Superstars have gone on to sign with AEW, such as Malakai Black, who also played a dark character on-screen for WWE and NXT before that.
Black could appear in AEW earlier than expected due to a clerical error which meant he had a 30-day non-compete rather than the standard 90 for a main roster Superstar. It’s unlikely that Bray only had 30-days on his non-compete and will be out of action for at least 90.
It remains to be seen what Bray Wyatt will now do, although there are a wealth of options for the talent Windum Rotunda, and AEW, IMPACT, New Japan and beyond are all viable places for The Fiend to reappear.
