Former WWE Superstar Lana/CJ Perry recently appeared on Chris Jericho’s Talk Is Jericho podcast. Lana discussed a number of topics on the show, including the phone call from John Laurinaitis where she was told that WWE were going to be cutting her from the roster.

“He goes, ‘I’m calling you about your 90 days. I was like ‘Wait, what?’ I was like, I couldn’t even understand” Lana began on the podcast, talking about her release a few weeks ago.

“He’s like, ‘I’m calling you about your 90 days. You’re getting released.’ I was literally standing right next to a pool. My heart dropped” Lana added.

Will Lana be going to AEW?

The former on-screen manager for Rusev then said that she felt a weight lifted after the reveal that she was going to be released due to budget cuts, something that she did not expect.

“At the same time, I felt really relieved, which was really weird” Lana noted. “Because I did not expect the feel relieved. Like I felt like a weight lifted off my shoulder and I could breathe.”

“If someone would have told me that would have happened. I would have been like, ‘No way,’ because I love my job” CJ Perry added. “I love the people that I worked with. I mean, yeah, things are sh*tty at times. But like, that’s why it’s a job, you know?

“At the same time, I felt really relieved, which was really weird. Because I did not expect the feel relieved. Like I felt like a weight lifted off my shoulder and I could breathe.”

LANA

It has not been confirmed what is next for Lana, as she is currently sitting out her 90 day non-compete, although her husband Miro is tearing it up in AEW as the TNT Champion, so there’s a very good chance that she will be joining him on Dynamite at some point down the line.
