WWE Hall of Famer Edge made his return to the company on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. The former World Heavyweight Champion attacked Roman Reigns and declared that he wants to face the ‘Head of The Table’ in a Universal Championship match at Money In The Bank.

The match is now confirmed and Edge will be taking on the Universal Champ when WWE hosts the Money In The Bank PPV event in July.

Money In The Bank is WWE’s first official PPV event back with a full capacity crowd in attendance since early 2020, and they are looking at stacking the card as much as possible.

Will Edge be at SummerSlam?

In a new report from Ringside News, the plan to have Edge face Reigns is not new at all and has been in the offing for quite some time.

“We asked around about Edge’s return and we were told that this was not a last-minute decision. We were told that this has been the plan for a while now”

It was also reported that the plan is still to have Edge take on Seth Rollins at the SummerSlam PPV in August. With WrestleMania having to have a limited crowd earlier this year, WWE are hoping to make the biggest party of the summer the ‘WrestleMania of 2021.’

So far there are three big contests being proposed for the show, these being the aforementioned Edge vs Rollins, Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley and John Cena vs Roman Reigns.
