Braun Strowman: WWE is reportedly interested in bringing him back

It has been reported that WWE is interested in bringing back recently released Superstar Braun Strowman.

Braun Strowman was one of the bigger names on the WWE RAW brand before being shockingly released in early June. The company had used him at the WrestleMania Backlash show in the main event against Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley.

It’s also worth noting that Braun won the Universal Championship from Goldberg at last year’s WrestleMania event. It’s therefore unlikely that WWE would pull the trigger on that move unless he were in their plans in the future, so the initial release came as a shock to many inside and outside the company.

Will Braun Strowman return to WWE?

According to Dave Meltzer in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is looking at bringing Braun Strowman back into the fold, especially as AEW are considering moves for CM Punk and Bryan Danielson.

“There is interest in bringing Strowman back especially after recent AEW signings”

WRESTLING OBSERVER NEWSLETTER

As of now, Strowman will not be able to perform for another company until his 90-day non-compete comes up, which is expected on August 31. There’s a slight chance that Braun Strowman may have negotiated a shorter non-compete, but with the landscape of pro wrestling right now, his best bet is likely to be returning to WWE.

AEW themselves were apparently interested in signing Braun, according to Mark Henry during a recent interview. There has been nothing further regarding Strowman potentially going All Elite when his non-compete finishes from any outlet since the Punk and Danielson news started circulating.
