WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan has been off of WWE programming since his loss at WrestleMania 37 in the main event against Edge and Roman Reigns.

There have been reports of WWE hoping to get Bryan back under contract, although at this point he is apparently a free agent and available to go anywhere in the wrestling world.

Despite WWE Superstars making references to Bryan on television, he has not re-signed with the company. This week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter indicated however that he may have made a ‘secret’ deal with WWE.

Will Daniel Bryan return to WWE?

“Regarding all the mentions of Daniel Bryan on television of late, we’re told this isn’t an indication he’s coming back. Nobody really knows what he’s doing past if he’s made a secret deal with any company, they are keeping it a secret until doing a dramatic reveal when they want to” Dave Meltzer wrote.

“They keep mentioning his name because he is part of the story of building Reigns vs. Edge, since they are using him as the reason Edge didn’t already win the title” Meltzer concluded.

From what we know, Daniel Bryan has not signed with WWE and is indeed still a free agent. Several promotions have reached out to Bryan regarding his contract status, however we do not at this time know where these talks have gone.

Despite this, it is likely that Bryan will re-sign with the company at some point, with his wife Brie Bella also likely to make her return at WWE in the near future along with her sister Nikki.
