UFC star Charles Oliveira recently stated that he plans on calling out the winner of Dustin Poirier vs Conor McGregor. The two Lightweight division fighters will collide at UFC 257 on January 23rd.
Oliveira recently defeated Tony Ferguson at UFC 256. The Brazilian would defeat Ferguson handily, leaving many to believe that he should be next in line for a Lightweight title shot. However with the current situation regarding the LW Championship it is not clear what UFC plans on doing with the division.
Khabib Nurmagomedov is still considered the UFC Lightweight Champion, even after declaring his retirement following his defeat of Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. UFC President Dana White would recently confirm that he his hoping to get Khabib to return, looking to move his fight career to 30-0. It may be that UFC plans on making McGregor vs Poirier a fight for an interim Championship.

Speaking to AG Fight, Charles Oliveira said ‘there will be a fight between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor. I just have to sit in the front row, waiting for which of the two will come to fight me. My manager is negotiating this (going to Abu Dhabi).’
‘But I also have my foot on the ground” Oliveira continued. “I know that we are in a pandemic, that it is difficult for things to happen. So, I understand if they can’t take me. I really wanted to be there in the first row, watching (McGregor vs. Poirier) because this fight speaks volumes (for the future).’
