The highly anticipated trilogy fight between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier is reportedly going to be taking place in the summer. Giorgi Kokiashvili, lead MMA reporter for Adjarasport TV, stated that the fight is close to being signed for July.
‘I don’t want to alarm you, but per Adjarasport TV and mJy sources, Poirier vs. McGregor 3 is being targeted for July 10th.’ This is what Kokiashvili recently posted on his Twitter account.
It’s now been reported by Ariel Helwani that the date of July 10th is now extremely close to being finalised. “Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor 3 is close to being finalized for UFC 264 on July 10, according to multiple sources” Helwani tweeted.

“It is not signed or fully agreed to yet” Ariel continued. “But all three parties seem optimistic at this time that it could be finalized as soon as this week, sources say.”
Dustin Poirier himself believed that the fight would likely happen in mid summer. ‘June, July. My wife’s birthday is coming up; we’re going to go somewhere for a couple of days’ Poirier said on the Joe Rogan podcast.
‘If I get the call and it’s time to go to work; I will lock myself in training camp’ Poirier noted. ‘But, I’m still not right now ready to go back to Florida a month removed from the last fight and lockdown for another ten weeks or whatever it is.’
With a new UFC Lightweight Champion being crowned at UFC 262? It is likely that the winner of this bout will go on to challenge later in the year or early next year.
