It has been confirmed that Hannah Goldy will no longer be taking to the octagon this Saturday. Goldy was confirmed as having tested positive for COVID-19 upon arrival at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.

“Life is crazy man” Goldy wrote on Instagram. “I literally can’t even believe I have to tell y’all that I won’t be fighting this Saturday. Flew out to Vegas and tested positive for COVID. I have never felt better, stronger or more complete.”

“I was so ready to perform for y’all Saturday” Hannah Goldy continued. “Unfortunately that was not Gods plan. I’ll be taking the necessary precautions and rescheduled as soon as I am healthy! I am so sorry guys.”

Goldy finished by apologising to her original opponent Jessica Penne for the cancellation of the fight. “And I am so sorry Jessica Penne. I have been looking forward to sharing the octagon with you. I will keep everyone updated. Thank you guys for all the support.”

Hannah Goldy vs Jessica Penne Off

UFC fighter Jessica Penne was expected to be returning to the octagon on March 27th to take on Hannah Goldy. Penne was previously serving a 4 year ban issued by USADA.

This 4 year ban was reduced to a 20-month layoff due to Jessica Penne’s discipline. USADA originally issued the ban due to a ‘positive at trace levels for two metabolites of stanozolol, 16β-hydroxystanozolol and 3’²-hydroxystanozolol.’ This was reportedly due to a tainted supplement.

It has not been confirmed at this time if Penne will be getting a last minute replacement opponent for Saturday.
