Former UFC 2-division champion Henry Cejudo has made a monumental claim. Triple C took to Twitter to ‘confirm’ that he will be fighting boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.

‘It’s going down! The Triple C Vs The Olympic bronze medalist @FloydMayweather #staytune’ Cejudo tweeted.

It’s nowhere near a confirmation, but a megafight between one of the UFC’s greatest ever and ‘Money’ Mayweather would certain draw well at the box office.

Floyd Mayweather was recently pictured meeting with the UFC President Dana White. The UFC President posted an image earlier this week, showing him meeting with Mayweather and RIZIN CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara.

It’s not clear why the three men have met, and right now it’s looking like Henry Cejudo may have been part of the conversations. Floyd Mayweather ’˜retired’ back in 2017, with his last match up coming against UFC megastar Conor McGregor.

Sakakibara discussed how the meeting came to be. ‘When I was having a meeting with Mayweather, I was surprised when Dana appeared when I was told, ’˜I have a guy who wants to see Sakakibara from now on, so I’ll call him by phone.’

‘It’s been about 15 years since I met him again’ Sakakibara continued. ‘One of the guys I wanted to meet back in the industry. Something may be born by chance!’

Dana White confirmed back in 2019 that he and Mayweather were looking to go into business together. These plans were halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic and international lockdown protocols.

Dana told ESPN: ‘The world imploded [due to COVID-19] after we were talking about doing some things together.’ It remains to be seen if a deal can come together, it’s likely that this would be to promote Mayweather exhibition fights across the globe.
