Former UFC fighter and commentator Michael Bisping recently discussed the biggest and best moments for UFC in 2020. The latest episode of the Believe You Me w/Michael Bisping podcast was a year end awards themed show.
During the show Bisping would reveal his pick for UFC Fight of The Year, as well as listing some other notable bouts. “There’s been a lot of good fights this year” Michael Bisping began on the podcast.
“There’s a few that flew under the radar that definitely need a mention, some that are in close contention. I think Shane Burgos versus Josh Emmett? That was an incredible fight, I was there, I called that one. I couldn’t believe the action I was seeing, I mean Josh Emmett? He hits so hard. Shane Burgos took so many shots, but he kept firing back, incredible fight.”
“Dan Hawker versus Dustin Poirier? That sh*t was bananas, just an incredible fight” Bisping would continue. “Figueiredo vs. Moreno, that I think has won some of the ‘big’ awards?”
Michael Bisping on Zhang vs Jedrzejczyk
Michael Bisping would then reveal (in not much of a shock) that Weili Zhang vs Joanna Jedrzejczyk was his Fight of The Year. “Zhang vs Jedrzejczyk? That’s the winner for me” Bisping stated, discussing the incredible fight from UFC 248 way back in March. “It seems like long ago, but remember…I mean that was non stop action.”
“Jedrzejczyk came out of it looking like a klingon” Bisping continued. “She was visibly disfigured, her head was swollen, it was absolutely gigantic. She gave a really good account of herself. Yeah, for me? That’s the winner, Weili Zhang vs Joanna Jedrzejczyk.”
