Paige VanZant recently spoke to Curran Bhatia on the Ask The Experts podcast. “I just know that as a professional athlete, especially with what we do and how we put our bodies on the line for a sport. “I know that the UFC obviously isn’t as big as the NFL or the NBA” Paige VanZant continued. “But, in retrospect? You do have to be compensated for a career like this, that can be really short. The idea is not to to do this part-time, obviously. So I’m really happy that I was able to test free agency.”

Paige VanZant would finish by saying that she now feels she can be a fighter ‘full-time.’ “I feel like if you’re not getting paid for what you’re doing? It’s not a job, it’s just a hobby. I wanted this to be my full time job. Now I’m at that point and I can truly say that fighting is 100% my career that’s gonna take me into retirement.”
