UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko recently spoke to James Lynch ahead of the Ben Askren vs Jake Paul boxing match. The fight takes place next weekend, a week before Shevchenko defends her title against Jessica Andrade.

“For someone who is not that good, for example, in stand up, it’s very hard” Valentina Shevchenko began, saying how Ben Askren will struggle this weekend. “It’s super hard (to box). Because the specialization of Ben Askren is more wrestling.”

“It’s more like to lift his opponent and put him down” Shevchenko continued. “And it’s going to be a little bit harder, but you never know.”

“I don’t really know skills about Jake Paul” Valentina concluded. “I don’t know his skills. I never saw him fighting. But final of the day, it’s going to be interesting.”

The fight between Paul and Askren is set to be a mainstream hit. The show will be available on Triller Fight Club for US$49.99 in the United States. The event will also be available to via on FITE TV in the UK and Europe for only $23.99.

Here’s the current card for Paul vs Askren in April:

  • Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren
  • Regis Prograis vs. Ivan Redkach
  • Steve Cunningham vs. Frank Mir
  • Joe Fournier vs. Reykon

Justin Bieber, Diplo, The Black Keys, Doja Cat and Major Lazer are all also expected to perform on the night. Snoop Dogg will reportedly also be back on commentary; having been at the stick for the Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr PPV just a few months ago.

Interestingly, Snoop Dogg has ’˜bet’ $2 million dollars that Jake Paul will win, going against UFC President Dana White who said that he will put $1 million on Askren to take the win.
