Former WWE Intercontinental Champion Carlito recently appeared on the Joe ‘Whataday!’ podcast with Joe Lowry. Carlito discussed a number of topics during the interview, including his Royal Rumble 2021 appearance and what his next move may be.

‘Man, who knows?” Carlito stated on the podcast when asked if he is likely to sign with WWE for further dates. “As of now, I’m open to whatever kind of idea is out there. Right now, I’m on my own. I’m just open to whatever comes my way.’

Carlito to AEW?

When specifically asked about All Elite Wrestling, Carlito didn’t rule out going to the Florida based promotion. ‘Whatever great idea is out there, I’m willing to listen and see if I fit in there somehow.’

Whilst Carlito isn’t a ‘major’ name from WWE’s past, the is a solid mid-card talent and could potentially be of benefit to AEW. There is of course also the ‘stigma’ of signing too many former WWE Superstars, something that AEW appear to be acutely aware of with only the biggest names formerly with WWE ascending to the top of the pile in All Elite.
