AEW President Tony Khan recently appeared on Sirius XM’s Busted Open Radio. The ‘Forbidden Door’ of All Elite Wrestling discussed a number of topics during the interview; including the potential move of the NHL to either TNT or TBS.

‘I know Wednesday night is our slot and our home,’ Tony Khan said on Busted Open. ‘I’m thrilled with our partnership with TNT. It’s the lifeblood of our company, it’s our primary revenue source and it’s the way most fans get exposed to AEW and see the show.”

“And tonight and every Wednesday that we do Dynamite, I think for a lot of wrestling fans it’s a very important night of the week” Khan continued.

‘So I want everyone to rest assured they’re not going to have to worry about these kind of major developments” Khan added. “We have a contract, we have two and a half years left on it, over two and a half years on it for Wednesday nights in this slot.’

There had been reports that AEW may have to move slots. Turner Broadcasting recently got the rights to the NHL, which usually has a big game on a Wednesday. It’s still not confirmed if the NHL will be broadcast on TNT or TBS.

If the hockey league is shown on TBS, then it won’t affect AEW. However, with such a legacy brand as the NHL there’s a good chance that if TNT wanted to have the games on a Wednesday then AEW may have to concede.
