Former IMPACT Wrestling Champion Tessa Blanchard has been a free agent since she left the company back on June 25th last year. There were a number of reports that Blanchard had been racially abusive to talents in the past, she however vehemently denies these claims.
On the AEW Dynamite post-show YouTube event, Tony Schiavone discussed the latest on Tessa Blanchard. ‘Yes, I don’t think that’s happening,’ said Schiavone when asked if he had any knowledge of AEW wanting to sign Tessa Blanchard. ‘At least not anytime soon. I would have heard that [if she’s coming over].”
WrestlingINC reported back in December that Tessa Blanchard had ‘yet to decide’ where she was heading. Blanchard is apparently waiting for the pandemic to be over before making her next move and taking the time to enjoy her new marriage to husband DAGA.
Tessa Blanchard Travel Restrictions
When the COVID-19 pandemic ends and travel restrictions are lifted, Blanchard will likely be moving to the United States. Tessa and DAGA currently live in DAGA’s native Mexico, and with the aforementioned restrictions it would be difficult to arrange a move to a major promotion at this time.
There’s still potential for Tessa Blanchard to move to AEW, but with her recent past it’s more likely that WWE/NXT would be the potential destination.
