Former WWE Superstar and Women’s wrestling legend Mickie James recently took to Twitter to offer her disgust at WWE’s ’˜disrespect’ following her release from the company.
James was sent her things in a ’˜trash bag’ after she had been let go from the company last week. At the time, Mickie James sarcastically tweeted at WWE with an image of the bag, saying ‘dear @VinceMcMahon, I’m not sure if you’re aware, I did receive my @WWE care package today. Thank you. #AlwaysBlessedandGrateful #WomensWrestlingMatters.’
WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon apologised to Mickie James on Twitter for the treatment that she had received following her release from the company.
Stephanie McMahon To Mickie James
“I am embarrassed you or anyone else would be treated this way” Stephanie McMahon wrote in apology to James. “I apologize personally and on behalf of WWE. The person responsible is no longer with our company.”
Mickie James then responded to McMahon’s comments, seemingly still unhappy with how things had played out through her entire recent run with the company.
“Thank you Stephanie” James wrote. “I appreciate that as I am equally embarrassed. I know this wasn’t a malicious act. However it did feel very symbolic to how I was presented in the last 3 years.”
