Chris Jericho Slates WWE For Zombie Lumberjack Match at Backlash

The WrestleMania Backlash PPV event is arguably going to be remembered for one match. WWE had a promotional deal in place with Netflix’s Army of The Dead movie, which included a zombie horde from the film appearing for the Lumberjack match between The Miz and Damian Priest.

It’s safe to say that there’s been a contrast in opinion regarding the match. The zombie lumberjacks would appear after John Morrison went to find the real life lumberjacks for the match; where he actually opened a door to a horde of the undead.

Chris Jericho on WWE Zombie Angle

It was recently reported that WWE hated the Blood & Guts match from AEW just over a week ago. Some inside of WWE said that they felt the match set the industry back 30 years. With WWE opting to use zombies, AEW’s ‘Le Champion’ decided to reference the report and take a dig at the company himself.

“Zombies’¦ZOMBIES? Wow that just set wrestling back 30 years” Chris Jericho wrote on Twitter. Either way, it’s a spectacle and needs to be watched just to prove to yourself that WWE really did go for a zombie angle on a 2021 PPV.
