Newly signed AEW star Christian Cage recently spoke to Bleacher Report. Cage discussed a number of topics during the interview, including last week’s release of Samoa Joe from WWE.

There were a number of talents released last week, but Samoa Joe was arguably the biggest name that was let go by the company. Joe has not appeared in the ring for WWE in quite some time, however he has been one of the shining spots of commentary on Monday Nights.

Many fans have been left completely bemused and bewildered by the decision from WWE; some fans are already looking to AEW as a potential destination for Samoa Joe in the near future.

Although Joe has been out of the ring for an undisclosed medical reason, it was believed that he would be cleared imminently. Joe was recently taken off of the RAW commentary team, which lead many to believe that he was finally going to step back in a WWE.

‘That surprised me” Christian Cage stated, speaking to Bleacher Report. “Joe is a super-talented guy. You see it in the ring, and obviously he has tremendous verbal skills.”

“He was a natural as a commentator as well” Cage continued. “When you have that kind of multi-talented individual who can wear a lot of hats, that’s invaluable.”

“He truly is, in my eyes, a top performer” Christian Cage concluded. “He’s not going to have any shortage of suitors when the time comes, that’s for sure.’
