WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan lost in the main event of this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown. With his loss, Bryan is now ‘banished’ from the blue brand and Friday nights on the FOX Network.

Daniel Bryan challenged Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship in the main event of the show. This was revealed as Bryan’s last chance at the title, having already faced Roman at Elimination Chamber, Fastlane and WrestleMania 37.

Roman Reigns won the match after locking Daniel Bryan in the Guillotine submission, which saw the ‘Leader of The YES Movement’ fade out and the match was declared over. Following the bout, Cesaro tried to make the save for Bryan, who was attacked by Roman with two steel chairs.

Daniel Bryan To NXT?

Now that Bryan has been ‘banished’ from SmackDown, fans have began to speculate as to where he may end up next. Whilst RAW on Monday nights is likely, NXT is still a rumoured destination for the great technical performer.

There are a plethora of opponents for Daniel Bryan to face on Tuesdays within the gold brand of WWE. Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Finn Balor and Johnny Gargano just to name a few could be considered ‘dream’ matches.

Bryan has said recently that he plans on taking a step away from competing full time for WWE. Whilst NXT might still be a long schedule, Bryan could be based in Florida and not have to do as much travelling every week once fans are allowed back in arenas.

It’s also worth remembering that Daniel Bryan started his WWE career in NXT, although it was a very different concept back then.
