WWE have not been able to keep up their Saudi Arabia obligations due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The company signed a massive deal a few years ago, believed to be worth billions, to run shows over in Saudi Arabia.

Obviously, the company have been unable to make their way abroad during the pandemic and have had to keep operations based around the United States and the WWE ThunderDome in Florida.

According to this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE are using Mansoor and his winning streak as a way to ‘appease’ officials in Saudi Arabia before they are able to head back to the country.

Saudi Arabia and Mansoor

Dave Meltzer stated that Mansoor has not lost a televised match since August 23, 2019. Mansoor appears on WWE Main Event frequently and he has not lost at all, but interestingly WWE have not made a big deal of it on TV.

“It is interesting politically that they would have the win streak, but never acknowledge it in the U.S.” Meltzer wrote. “And not put it on Raw or Smackdown with the idea of attempting to push him as a legit international star.”

It’s still unconfirmed at this time when WWE will be able to make their way back to Saudi Arabia.
