Former WWE Superstar Samoa Joe is one of the performers who has been released over the past few months. With WWE supposedly making ‘budget cuts,’ Joe was on the chopping block in the first round back on April 15.
According to Fightful Select, Joe is now likely to be returning to the company soon. The site confirmed that they had spoken to numerous NXT talent and staff this Friday. Apparently NXT, but not any specific figurehead, are interested in bringing Joe back into the fold.

Select also noted that “over a half dozen talent in the company and another outside have heard that the interest on NXT’s side is for a wrestling role if he can get cleared; and a producer role if he can’t get cleared.”
Samoa Joe was reportedly at the WWE Performance Center earlier this week. There’s no indication as to why the former NXT Champion was there; but this is an indication that there is at least some legs to the story.
