Unified Lightweight Champion Teofimo Lopez recently appeared on BBC’s 5 Live Boxing with Costello and Bunce. The fighter would discuss a number of topics during the show, including a potential rematch with Lomachenko, the Ryan Garcia vs Luke Campbell fight and how he ranks the other fighters in the Lightweight division.
“Number two? Lomachenko” Lopez began on the podcast. “Number three? Number three, would probably be Ryan Garcia” Teofimo Lopez would continue. “Four would be Devin Haney, and Number Five would be ‘Tank’ Davis.”
Lopez would then give his reasoning for putting Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis the lowest on his rankings. “The reason why I have Tank tagged as number five? He only fought once at 135 [pounds], against Gamboa. I just don’t think that it’s a secure win and and states that he is a lightweight. And you know, he’s more of a? What’s the word? A Super Featherweight anyway.”
