UFC fighter Alexis Davis recently spoke to BJPenn.com. The woman who handed Amanda Nunes a TKO loss discussed a number of topics during her interview with the site; including snapping her recent losing streak and a potential rematch against Nunes down the line.

Alexis Davis defeated Sabina Mazo via unanimous decision back in February of this year. Before that, Davis had lost to Viviane Araújo, Jennifer Maia and Katlyn Chookagian, all via the judge’s scorecards.

‘I was worried about my job when I lost three in a row,’ Davis told BJPENN.com. ‘In this fight camp, I started to train with a new team, like I know I have the skills it has just been a mental battle more than anything. I was just focusing on enjoying training and fighting again.’

Alexis Davis on Moving Up Bantamweight Ranks

With her recent win, Alexis Davis hopes to move up the Bantamweight ranks and face a top ten opponent. ‘I feel great and it was a whole new me. I got the win under my belt, I feel healthy and strong,’ Davis said. ‘Hopefully, I can get some good wins this year and see where it takes me. At this point, I don’t care who is next. But, obviously, I’d like someone in the top-10 given I was ranked 11th at flyweight.’

Davis finished by discussing a potential rematch against Amanda Nunes. The two last fought in 2011 as part of Strikeforce: Barnett vs. Kharitonov, with Alexis Davis handing Nunes a TKO loss in the second round.

‘I’m not going to lie, that has crossed my mind a few times” Davis stated in a rematch with Nunes. “I just need to get a few more wins and break into the top-10 and then it makes sense. It is a selling point that I have a TKO win over Amanda Nunes. I’m sure she wants to get that back.”
